Hello, my name is Kellianne Elker
As you have probably guessed I have CVS.

This is how it started.

It was in fourth grade when I was 10. I hadn't been feeling well anyway and it had gotten worse. So, one morning I felt really sick I knew I was nor going to school that day. I woke up and waited for me to throw up because I knew I would eventually then all of a sudden it came out. I walked over to the steps and told my mother she said to go back to bed and she'll be up in a minute so I went back to bed and then a couple of minutes later I threw up again and that was just the start. it was like that all day every few minutes I would throw up so then my mom took me out to the doctors or some place like that and on the way back I threw up in the car I could keep nothing down that day. The next day I still wasn't feeling well so my mom decided to take me to the hospital. She took me to Abington strait to the emergency room. The part she said she was also worried about was the fact that I was bent over when I walked. So I went to a room and the Nurse gave me an IV and ! told me to go to the bathroom for a urine test. The whole time the doctors were kidding around with me saying things like 'Want to go to the cafeteria to get something to eat?' Of course I knew I couldn't eat but they made me really hungry. So I stayed at the hospital till 11:30. I was out of school for the rest of the week. And got better in a couple of days.

Then in fifth grade it came back in spring the same time it came the year before. I didn't throw up as much as before but, my stomach ache was 5 times worse that before. So again my mom took me to the hospital the day after and it was pretty much the same except for the fact that I got a catscan also and came back the next day for ultra sounds and things like that. So I was out for a week and missed my Spirit of Philadelphia. it again was not fun at all.

Then on the week of Thanksgiving I got it again but it wasn't that serious I felt fine on Thanksgiving day but after I ate it wasn't good my stomach really hurt. So I thought that was it but boy was I wrong. In the middle of July I got it again and this time it was serious I made myself throw up cause it made me feel better and I couldn't myself. I didn't go to the hospital this time cause it cleared up in a few days but, my mom said she had enough. And took me to a special doctor in King of Prussia. They told me I need to get an upper G.I., another ultra sound for around my waist and a blood test. So we got all those done and went back about a month or so later and she told us it was nothing to serious but I have CVS or abdominal migraines my mom and dad were overjoyed they were so happy that we now know what I have and now have medicine to treat it but the person who was the most thrilled was me. I was so happy that I knew I was going to be able to get better cause w! e knew what it was.

Everyone was so sad when I was in the hospital. My family and friends were so supportive I'm glad I have them here with me.

I am now 13 and in seventh grade ready to face the world knowing that I can actually stay better with the medicine I am so thrilled still and overjoyed it was all so overwhelming . Thank you to whomever may be reading this.:)
